If only we got the opposition in today's debate
Coz we got TONS of stats for that...
Anyways...
I went to duty this morning as usual and rushed down to the prefect's room to get my stuff and the coats...
Somebody took my coat as mentioned yesterday >I dunno who
so i had to take Li Ling's coat...
I was just a reserve so it was merely a safety precaution..
then su qing, emily and i piled into pn saw's car while the rest went into pn Yeoh's 'dinosaur' which has buzz lightyear and woody the cowboy plastered over the windows.
We reached Hamid Khan at around 8 and just hung around surveying the alien environment..
and we saw ppl carrying dictionaries and we were all 'we didn't bring a dictionary!'
Then we were led to a table in the canteen and food was already placed there for us..
I ate a donut and gave su qing the spring roll coz i was suspiciuos that it contained octupus or sotong..
Nick was already opening a packet of nasi lemak when noel went 'you could get stomach ache eating spicy stuff in the morning'
So nick opted for the donut and spring rolls but weng sheng just continued eating the nasi lemak...
but he is just a reserve while nick is the third speaker so that was okay
Then jia, nick, noel {the 3 main speakers, weng sheng and i}reserves were led to the teachers room cum debate room for the 1 hour quarantine
Then the stewards burst in when we had made ourselves comfortable and said it was the wrong room
okaaay..
Then we were sent to the science lab..
Then the stewards burst in again...
We all chorused 'Wrong room again?'
'No, you all have to go de, debate about to start'
We all stared at them
it wasn't even an hour yet
but nick said oh well, no choice
Then the stewards went back to enquire and told us we had an hour
scared us...
then while everyone was busy memorizing, weng sheng and i thinking about POIs
Noel started singing 'chariots of fire' under his breath
Nick was all dude, shut up lah..
Then peace and quiet reigned until noel started singing 'the lion sleeps tonight'
We let him be lah
We went to the debate room at 10am
We were the guv while hamid Khan was opposition
Noel started off fine but was a bit unsure and stuttering at the end.
so far so good
the opposition leader wasn't that good and didn't answer our POIs at all
he accepted them but just didn't answer what we asked..
and he said that husband and wife were ununited by marriage
weird, he was suppose to be pro- marriage
then came jia's turn
she was great
then the second opposition speaker POIed her
he was stuttering and couldn't finish it
so she dismissed him
that guy had a crush on her
he was making eyes at her and totally stopped in his speech when jia looked at him
haha
we had a laugh at her expense..
then when all seemed lost and uncertain
it was nick's turn
he was awesome man
i couldn't believe he lost his temper last year
he was cool as a cucumber and when the opposition POIed him and was really aggresive and annoying,
he went 'patience, patience' like he was teaching a padawan or something
haha
We felt he did an awesome job, what more he went in without a script
then the third opposition speaker came
he is a total jerk and loser
he condemned our stats and called them fake
he sneered at jia saying that her pronounciation was not, i quote, collek
helo? it is 'correct' not collek
he strutted around and his grammar stinks like an unwashed privy during summer
he turned the debate into a circus du freake
and they won
life is just such a fair, wonderful thing, isn't it?
and that 3rd speaker asked for our stats later for their next match
after saying our stats were fake
nice boy, eh?
they shouted and threatened while we were polite and unruffled
their grammar and pronounciation stunk to the heavens while our pronounciation and grammar were good, with very few wrong pronounciations due to the twist of the tongue.
it was a pretty close fight on points and info, i admit.
after the anouncement of the result, pn yeoh asked the judges why heng ee lost.
u know what the judge said?
someone had to win.
even they admitted that we were extremely close
if only we had gotten opposition
we would have slaughtered them..
o well
we went back at 12.45pm on pn yeoh's dinosaur...
nick and noel were disappointed
this is their last year after all
anyway, we are all getting pizza on friday
yay
Chong Hwa got through to the semi's but lost to convent cause they got the opposition part
o well
that's all for now
still a lil' disappointed though..
